Job Description

KAPSARC Advisory Services Group is seeking a managing consultant/engagement manager to join its growing Advisory team. The Advisory Services division of KAPSARC provides stakeholders in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) with world-class advisory services in the fields of energy and economics through leveraging the models, methods and tools (MMTs) as well as subject matter expertise available at KAPSARC. Utilizing its KSA-tailored MMTs, KAPSARC Advisory assists stakeholders in addressing their pressing issues such as evaluating the macro-economic impact of policy options, project techno-economic and feasibility analysis, and strategic direction setting.

The Energy Adviser is responsible for the delivery of client projects and assists in managing the relationships with the clients and subject matter experts. The candidate is expected to be a trusted adviser to clients on issues at hand. The holder of this position is expected to work with the clients, as well as guide advisory team staff and subject matter experts on project delivery.

Required qualifications

  • Min 5-7 years’ experience in energy policy or energy economics gained either in a consultancy environment, government department or research organization
  • Bachelor degree in relevant field: business administration, engineering, energy economics, economics (preferably having Masters)
  • Familiarity with professional energy sector model and tools desired
  • High energy individual possessing excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Self-motivated, and can deliver under pressure
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to derive insight and contribute to thought leadership with the clients
  • Fluency in English
  • Proficiency in MS office
  • Generating analysis and insight: executing rigorous and insightful analysis to build an evidence base to support strategy and policy development and change;
  • Deliver value through quality: Demonstrate knowledge and integrity, apply and acquire technical expertise, manage projects and economics, be open minded, agile and practical with change.
  • Relationship management: working closely with clients and third parties (e.g., academics and researchers) to develop strong professional relationships;
  • Continuous learning: proactively developing your own skills, seeking feedback, building knowledge, and sharing your insight with colleagues.
