Job Description

King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) is an advisory think tank within global energy economics and sustainability providing advisory services to entities and authorities in the Saudi energy sector.

KAPSARC seeks an analytically strong researcher to lead and contribute to cost-benefit and economic-impact assessment studies of transport projects and policies. The successful candidate would provide quantitative impact assessments of economic development and social welfare (relative to costs) of transport focused investments and policies.

Required qualifications

  • Ph.D. in transportation, economics, engineering, or other related field with coursework and/or research experience in cost benefit and economic impact analysis of transport projects and policies. A bachelor’s and/or master’s degree is acceptable if research maturity in the field is demonstrated through vocational experience

Experience

  • Doctorate degree and 8+ year’s relevant experience; master's degree and 10+ year’s relevant experience; or bachelor’s degree and 12+ year’s relevant experience.
  • Record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Additional languages to English are a plus, especially Arabic.
  • Experience of working in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams is a plus.
  • Good communication skills and enthusiastic team player.
  • Collect and synthesize information to conduct cost-benefit and economic-impact assessments.
  • Further develop analytical models and tools to provide quantitative results on cost-benefit and economic-impact assessments of investments and policies related to transport and urban infrastructure.
  • Communicate results to stakeholders through well-designed presentations as advisory support.
  • Publish peer-reviewed journal articles and discussion papers.
  • Present results at conferences and workshops.
