Overview

We are pleased to announce that registration for the 3rd IAEE MENA Conference, co-hosted by the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) and the Saudi Association for Energy Economics (SaudiAEE), is now open. This event will take place on December 8-9 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
 
The conference, titled “Domestic Energy and Economic Transformations in a Transitioning World,” will bring together economists, academics, researchers, institutional leaders, policymakers, and executives over two days to discuss the critical issues shaping the energy landscape in the MENA region in the 21st century.

Young Professionals and Scholars Day
 
On December 7, we will host the Young Professionals and Scholars Day at the KAPSARC School of Public Policy campus. This program is designed to enhance the professional learning and development of young professionals and scholars, including Ph.D. candidates, recent graduates, and early-career professionals in the field of energy economics. The day will cover career path selection, academic publishing basics, connecting with successful professionals, and establishing a global professional peer network. To participate, RSVP by emailing iaeemena_registration@saudi-aee.sa before November 15 with the subject line: Young Professionals and Scholars Day.

Conference Highlights

  1. Plenary sessions will explore MENA’s efforts to reduce dependence on hydrocarbons, transition to cleaner alternatives, and the role of innovation in renewable energy, energy storage, and smart grids in economic diversification. Discussions will also cover strategies and financing for clean energy, including incentives, regulatory frameworks, and public-private partnerships.
  2. The conference will feature over 100 presentations, offering insights from global experts on energy transitions and economic transformations.
  3. Attendees will also have the chance to network with industry leaders, academics, and peers, fostering valuable collaborations and exchanges.
  4. This is a unique opportunity to stay informed about the evolving energy landscape and contribute to the dialogue shaping the future of energy and economics in the region.
