Project Aim

This project examines the opportunities for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to reduce the net carbon content of its oil production, allowing the Kingdom to embark on a strategy that will help secure future demand for Saudi oil. In an increasingly carbon-constrained world, oil consumers are more and more likely to look at the carbon content of imported oil. Within this context, Saudi Arabian oil could become highly carbon-competitive while retaining its low-cost production profile. This project will assess technology and policy options and analyze related legal, regulatory and commercial issues.
