This project aims to inform the Saudi policy-making process in the context of ongoing UNFCCC negotiations and in light of Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the G20 Summit in 2020. It also aims to contribute to the international literature on the global governance of energy and climate change in the Paris Agreement era. It targets a gap in this literature by focusing on the supply-side rather than on the demand-side. This project focuses specifically on global governance issues and fills a gap in KAPSARC research. It has the potential to continue beyond the three studies proposed to become part of KAPSARC research over the long run.
