This workshop, co-hosted by KAPSARC and the Payne Institute, aims to start a discussion to help bridge the gap in research between at least two disciplines: political science — specifically the subfield of international relations — with energy economics and the study of global energy markets, particularly oil and gas markets.
Areas for discussion will include sanctions, diplomatic activity, cross-border disputes, and other non-economic events that could be of significance to global oil and gas markets.
Participants at the workshop, which will take place at the Colorado School of Mines campus in the city of Golden, will include a wide range of multidisciplinary experts and policy makers from around the world.
The April workshop aims to be the first in a series that will work to foster an environment where practical and rigorous research ideas can be conceptualized prior to being developed and executed.
