كابسارك والمنتدى الاقتصادي يبحثان تحولات الطاقة النظيفة عالميا

Article published by Saudi Gazette on Nov 11, 2017FOSTERING Effective Energy Transition” was the title of a workshop organized by the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center in collaboration with the World Economic Forum, at the Conference Center in Riyadh last Monday.More than 25 energy experts gathered in KAPSARC to discuss the extent to which Saudi Arabian preparations for the global clean energy transition position it for success in meeting Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 goals.The objective of the workshop was to understand better the economic and investment implications of renewable energy development in the Kingdom and the opportunities to learn from international approaches, according to the VP of research at KPSARC David Hobbs.The workshop attendees discussed ways that renewable energy could become a job engine, allow Saudi Arabia to transition to a cleaner and more efficient energy system and identified the extent to which energy prices that reflect the underlying costs would provide the appropriate incentives that would benefit the economy’s competitiveness, Bandar Alkhamies, the Global Leadership Fellow at WEF, mentioned.Saudi Arabia recently announced its intention to deploy 9.5 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity by 2023 and attract $50 billion of investment in renewables by 2030.Workshop attendees included representatives from Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources (MEIM), Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC), International Energy Forum (IEF), Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), Saudi Aramco and McKinsey & Com.KAPSARC is dedicated to research into energy economics, policy, technology and the environment, across all types of energy. The Center is focused on finding solutions for the most effective and productive use of energy, creating added value that contributes to the welfare of both energy exporting and consuming societies. عقد مركز الملك عبدالله للدراسات والبحوث البترولية «كابسارك» ورشة عمل بعنوان «تعزيز كفاءة عمل تحولات الطاقة»، وتسعى الورشة التي عقدت بالتعاون مع المنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي في مقر المركز بالرياض لبحث قدرة المملكة على مواكبة تحولات الطاقة النظيفة عالميا والعمل على تطوير تحولات الطاقة في المملكة.وجمعت الورشة أكثر من 25 خبيرا في شؤون الطاقة لمناقشة مدى استعداد المملكة لتحولات الطاقة النظيفة عالميا للنجاح في تحقيق أهداف رؤية السعودية 2030، وذكر ديفيد هوبز نائب رئيس المركز لفريق الأبحاث أن الورشة تستهدف إمكانية الاستفادة من النماذج الدولية في تطوير الطاقة المتجددة وتحقيق فهم أفضل للإجراءات الاقتصادية والاستثمارية اللازمة لتطوير هذا القطاع في المملكة.توليد الوظائفأشار بندر الخميس زميل في برنامج القادة الدوليين في المنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي إلى أن ورشة العمل ناقشت آلية وطرق توليد الوظائف من خلال تطوير قطاع الطاقة المتجددة، بالإضافة إلى كيفية منح السعودية القدرة على مواكبة الطاقة المتجددة والأنظمة الفعالة لها، والتعريف بالحوافز المناسبة التي تحد من التأثير السلبي على تنافسية الاقتصاد جراء رفع أسعار الطاقة.وكانت السعودية قد أعلنت مؤخرا على عزمها توليد 9.5 جيجا واط من الطاقة المتجددة في 2023، وجذب استثمارات في هذا القطاع تقدر بخمسين مليار دولار في 2030، وحضر ورشة العمل ممثلون من وزارة الطاقة والصناعة والثروة المعدنية والمركز السعودي لكفاءة الطاقة والشركة السعودية للكهرباء، بالإضافة إلى منتدى الطاقة الدولي وشركة أرامكو السعودية.سياسات الطاقةيهتم مركز الملك عبدالله للدراسات والبحوث البترولية بدراسة سياسات الطاقة بكل أنواعها ومصادرها، وما يتعلق بها من اقتصادات وتقنيات وتأثيرها في البيئة، بهدف إيجاد حلول وقيمة مضافة تسهم في منفعة المجتمعات المصدرة والمستهلكة للطاقة على حد سواء، ويتولى نشر ملخصات لورش العمل التي يقيمها على الصفحة الإلكترونية للمركز.ويعتبر المنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي منظمة دولية غير ربحية تهتم في تحسين اقتصاد الدول في كافة أنحاء العالم من خلال التشاركية بين رجال الأعمال وصناع القرار والأكاديميين والقادة المؤثرين في هدف إعادة تشكيل القطاعين الاقتصادي والصناعي محليا وعالميا.
