In the spirit of advancing knowledge and learning as one of our core cultural values, KAPSARC held its second poster session this year featuring teams from transportation & infrastructure, consulting, utilities & renewables, and IT. With that in mind, the transportation & infrastructure team presented different use cases of earth observation data. This type of data is used to create value added products that can be utilized in KAPSARC to support both applied-research and consulting projects. Meanwhile, the consulting team showcased some of their ongoing consulting undertakings, including a national cost analysis in the event that a gasoline distribution pipeline ceases operation. As for the power sector, if emerging technologies are utilized, the sector can save more than $80 billion cumulatively and prevent a total of 8.8 billion tonnes of carbon emission by 2025, according to the utilities & renewables team. Lastly, the IT team presented the Center’s ongoing efforts to digitalize internal processes for increased productivity and efficiency. These new processes will include digital signatures and business visitor access management. Explore more about KAPSARC and its different departments via
