Job Description

The Recreation & Events Specialist is responsible, under the general direction of the Director of Facilities for managing, overseeing, and providing all relevant services on the entire KAPSARC site, as applicable.

Required qualifications

  • Degree in business/ public administration, engineering, hospitality, multimedia, or similar
  • Extensive work experience in a similar role including supervisory experience
  • Excellent command of the English language (spoken/written)
  • Excellent command of the Arabic language (spoken/written)

Experience

  • Must possess sound business judgment, analytical expertise, and high degree of comprehension to develop clear, concise, and practical solutions
  • Broad, comprehensive knowledge of applicable policies and procedures with specialized knowledge of organization, supervision and administrative systems and maintenance/construction practices for residential and recreational properties
  • Effective decision-making skills
  • Skillful in dealing tactfully and positively with stakeholders
  • Ability to plan for events with all relevant details, present the plans for approval, and implement the approved plans
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and able to handle last minute changes
  • Understanding of computer database, related business program applications and inventory system and able to provide comprehensive business reports and make presentations to management
  • Professional, tactful and diplomatic personality
  • Work closely with the FM team members and support FM Management in various Recreation, Events, Concessions, Lease, Food & Beverage and other relevant operations as applicable
  • Conduct inspections for safekeeping, and upkeep of the KAPSARC assets
  • Responsible for the general safety and overall inspection of the scope relevant areas
  • Oversee the overall activities of all leasing activities, and outsourced facilities as applicable
  • Oversee the overall event management, and recreation activities, as applicable
  • Provide the required assistance to various exhibitions and events as applicable
  • Prepare for plans, posters, and layouts as applicable
  • Manage the relevant customer-care, communication, announcements and reporting database
  • Form partnerships and alliances with contractors, users/clients and vendors and develop teamwork and cooperation to resolve business and technical issues
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as requested by the direct supervisor
