Job Description

KAPSARC seeks a macroeconomist to contribute to its ongoing and future research projects in the field of energy economics. The selected candidate will work within the Energy and Macroeconomics Program. The area of interest of applicants should fall within energy economics and macroeconomic modeling (especially DSGE and applied general equilibrium models).

Required qualifications

  • A Ph.D. degree in the field of economics.
  • A good understanding of the energy market (both supply and demand sides), especially in the context of oil.
  • Strong quantitative skills and analytical capability to understand and develop economic models to be used for policymaking.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, DYNARE or GAMS
  • High proficiency in English.
  • The successful candidate is expected to:
  • Develop research projects and proposals, carry out collaborative research projects
  • Improve, update and develop models
  • Draft papers
  • Mentor junior researchers
    He/She will also be encouraged to publish the outcomes of the research projects in peer-reviewed journals and present at local or international workshops/conferences.
