Call for Papers – IAEE MENA Conference 2026

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit abstracts describing original research, policy analysis, or case studies related to energy economics and policy. Abstracts should clearly outline the background and motivation of the research, methodology, key findings, and conclusions. The abstract should be no longer than two pages.

Please make clear in the abstract why the research that you are proposing to present at the conference is significant. Abstracts must be submitted online by October 3, 2026. All submissions should be in English or Arabic.

Abstract submissions are welcomed covering all areas of energy economics, including, but not limited to, the following list. Topics related to energy diversification and energy transition that are not listed below are also encouraged.

No more than two pages.

All abstracts must include the following sections and be submitted in PDF format.

  • Summary of Research
  • Conclusions
  • Methodology
  • References
    (if appropriate)
  • Results and Findings

When submitting the abstract, authors must select one IAEE Energy Specialization Code that is most appropriate for their paper. 

Abstracts should be submitted online "Submit Here".

Authors will be notified on a rolling basis, but no later than October 15, 2026, of the status of their abstract submission. The conference will be in-person only without any online participation.

Key Notes

  1. One author can present only one paper at the conference.
  2. Authors can submit multiple abstracts, but if more than one is accepted, one of the co-authors must register to present at the conference.
  3. The title of the abstract cannot be changed after the abstract has been accepted.  

At least one author of an accepted paper must register and attend the conference to present the paper. Failure to register and attend the conference will result in the paper being withdrawn from the conference.
