Dr. Amro Elshurafa, who has extensive experience in technology systems, particularly in emerging trends in nanotechnology and its potential application in various industrial uses, has joined KAPSARC. He will engage in critical research into technology trends and their interplay with economics and policy, including the factors affecting worldwide deployment rates of renewables.
Before joining KAPSARC, he spent four years as a Research Fellow at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). He is the author of over 30 papers and the inventor of five (pending) patents. A registered professional engineer (PEng) in Canada, Amro obtained his PhD, MASc, and BEng degrees, all in electrical engineering, from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
