Dr. Nicholas Howarth, leading international economist, signs onto KAPSARC’s Research team

Dr. Nicholas Howarth, an economist with over 10 years’ experience in applied policy issues, is now a member of the KAPSARC team focusing on the intersection of policy and technology. Prior to KAPSARC, he was a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford’s Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment. He recently completed his doctoral thesis at Oxford’s School of Geography investigating the links between technological change, energy, climate change and green growth.

Before Oxford University, he worked in various roles including as economic advisor to the Australian Environment Minister, in the Federal Department of Finance, and as director of economic policy at the National Farmers’ Federation. He recently co-authored and published a book ‘Carbon Markets: an international business guide’. Nicholas has a PhD in economic and political geography and MSc in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford, as well as a BA in Economics from Adelaide University, Australia.
