Joint IEF–KAPSARC Thought Leaders’ Roundtable

KAPSARC and the International Energy Forum (IEF) held a joint roundtable at the IEF Secretariat in Riyadh on March 24, 2015 on Oil Market Volatility, Investment and Spare Capacity: Connections, Costs and Consequences. Cohosted by IEF Secretary General, Dr. Aldo Flores- Quiroga, and Mr. Samer AlAshgar, President of KAPSARC, the Joint Thought Leaders’ Roundtable was open to participants of the Fifth IEA-IEF-OPEC Symposium on Energy Outlooks, which took place on March 23 at the IEF. The meeting consisted of two sessions which focused on the return of turbulence in global oil markets and its consequences for investment and spare capacity. Dr Aldo Flores-Quiroga hosted session one, with the second session hosted by Mr. David Hobbs, Head of Research at KAPSARC. Presenters included: HE Amir Hossein Zamaninia, Deputy Petroleum Minister for International Affairs and Commerce, Ministry of Petroleum, Iran; Guy Caruso, Senior Adviser Energy and National Security Program, Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS); Yao Li, CEO SIA Energy; John Brunton, Programme Director, Global Energy Geneva; Robert McNally, President, Rapidan Group; and Axel Pierru, Program Director, KAPSARC.
