A range of experts on remote sensing, big data analysis, population dynamics, and geographic information systems from academia, government, and the private sector attended KAPSARC’s Remote Sensing and Social Science Applications workshop on June 7, 2016, in Boulder, Colorado, USA.
The second in our Workshop Series on Human Geography of Energy, this event covered specific geographies, methodological innovations and advances in this area with a focus on applications where mixed methods approaches have been used; in particular integrating household surveys with imagery and remote sensing data.
The workshop insights and key conclusions will inform KAPSARC’s new research program being planned to integrate remote sensing and spatial analysis with social science methods to study energy development, energy use, and inform energy policy.
