As China enters its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), it faces the challenge of sustaining rapid clean energy expansion while managing rising power demand, system constraints, and structural economic transition. This paper examines the energy priorities of the 15th Five-Year Plan and analyzes how China aims to build a “new-type” energy system aligned with its climate commitments.
