Decarbonizing offshore oil production platforms is a viable option to lower product-level carbon intensity, which is increasingly linked to market access and long-term competitiveness. This study provides a techno-economic assessment of alternative low-carbon power supply pathways for offshore oil platform operations, with a focus on major offshore fields operated by Saudi Aramco. We develop KAPSARC Offshore Oil and Gas Power Load (KAP-LOAD) – a physics-based, bottom-up framework that constructs field-specific electrical demand profiles from core offshore processes.
