Saudi Arabia is expanding digital infrastructure as global competition for AI-oriented compute industries accelerates. Yet the growth of data centers depends directly on the energy systems that power them, creating tradeoffs between competitiveness, resource use, and sustainability. This paper examines the “Energy-AI Nexus” in Saudi Arabia and explores how the Kingdom can convert energy advantage into durable digital advantage.
