Saudi Arabia has developed a globally competitive plastics and petrochemical industry,
supported by abundant feedstock and strong industrial policy under Vision 2030. At
the same time, rising plastic consumption has led to a significant increase in plastic
waste generation, estimated at nearly 8 million tons per annum (MTPA).
