A knowledge-intensive, diversified economy is central to Saudi Vision 2030. A technically skilled workforce is a critical input, and tertiary education has risen substantially over the past decade. Yet the economic value of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education depends not only on how many graduates are produced but also on how effectively they are matched to jobs that use their skills. This paper examines how field of study and occupation relate to wages, using administrative employment records for Saudi nationals in the formal private sector from 2018 to 2022.
