This project continues the development of the KAPSARC Energy Model (KEM) platform to facilitate model management and flexibility to address stakeholders’ policy questions. The project aims to streamline the KEM family of models to make them easier to use by external stakeholders. It leverages the Extended Mathematical Programming (EMP) framework to simplify the KEM structure and policy analysis.
KEM is an advanced energy modeling platform that can handle the pricing rules, subsidies and other government interventions specific to Saudi Arabia. KEM has been developed by KAPSARC to assess the effects of alternative policies or technologies.
