Project Aim

This project aims to investigate the role of natural gas in the energy transition, notably through the lenses of MENA countries, and understand countries’ approaches in monetizing their gas resources.

Key Questions

  • What are the prospects of MENA gas demand, supply and trades under various uncertainties featuring energy markets and the global energy transition?
  • How is natural gas contributing to the environmental and climate agendas, taking into account the MENA perspective?
  • What are the opportunities and challenges for KSA, driven by gas market evolutions?
  • What are the developments and trends of low-carbon gas supplies in the MENA region and their synergies with gas assets and infrastructures?
