Dr. Hattan Abuzaid is the Acting Executive Director in the Consulting Services department at KAPSARC, where he advises policymakers on regulatory and economic issues in the Saudi energy sector. His areas of expertise include the techno-economics of new energy technologies, artificial intelligence hardware infrastructure, electricity grid modernization, energy financial regulation, and advanced manufacturing. Prior to joining KAPSARC, Dr. Hattan was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Argonne National Laboratory (a U.S. Department of Energy affiliated lab) and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Management Consultant at Strategy& (formerly Booz & Company) and as an Operations Planning Manager at Cummins Olayan Energy.
