Decision Modeling Workshop takes place in Durham, North Carolina

KAPSARC held its first workshop on Decision Modeling on September 29-30, 2014 in Durham, North Carolina in the United States. The workshop was jointly held with Duke University’s Energy Imitative.

The discussion and presentations focused on exploring approaches, challenges, data requirements, and applications of modeling to policy making processes and group decision making processes. Workshop participants attended from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Rochester University, University of California in San Diego; George Mason University, the RAND Corporation, including others from a variety of backgrounds.

The workshop participants focused on how the decision sciences can be used to understand major policy discontinuities that might impact global, national, and regional energy markets. Particular focus was given to the methods and techniques which can advance the state-of-the-art in this field.
