The geothermal energy sector is positioned for accelerated growth amid rising demand for low-carbon, secure, and reliable energy systems. As reaffirmed at COP30, global commitments to triple renewable capacity to at least 11 terawatts and to double energy efficiency improvements by 2030 will require substantial expansion of geothermal electricity and direct-use applications.
