Innovation, enabling policy frameworks and step-change developments are required to transform the global energy system was the message given by H.E. Khalid Al-Falih, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, during his opening speech on the first day of the Energy Dialogue 2016 held in in Riyadh on November 1 and 2.
The two-day Energy Dialogue was organized by KAPSARC as a catalyst to find solutions for the energy challenges facing the global community.
Over 300 researchers, energy specialists and policymakers from around the world attended the dialogue, which involved three keynote speakers, four plenary sessions and 12 roundtable dialogues on the theme of energy transition and economic transformation.
During his opening remarks, the Minister stressed that the primary role of KAPSARC lies in addressing the global challenges facing the energy sector, and identifying solutions that can be put forward to the global energy community.
“The role that has been put on the shoulders of KAPSARC aims to create an unprecedented future”, the Minister stated.
